Ambulatory Surgery Center Manager

Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) Manager needed for a busy Ophthalmology Multispecialty (all eye surgery specialties and ENT cases related to eyes) ASC located in Sycamore, IL.

Seeking candidate with expertise and ability to start, credential, equip, staff as well as set up and manage the daily operations and procedures of the facility efficiently to provide superior care to its patient and the community in a safe, customer friendly and cost conscious manner

Responsibilities

  • Develop, monitor and control the staffing needs, operations budget and purchasing plan as well as continuous monitoring of operations to ensure compliance with goals and budgets.
  • Work in conjunction with the Medical Director and Medical Board in the evaluation and development of existing and new surgical services at the facility
  • Manage ASC licensure & credentialing process with relevant federal and state regulatory organizations and other credentialing bodies with a goal of achieving excellence and being in the top 1% of relevant category on all relevant metrics
  • Ensure compliance with government regulatory agencies and accrediting bodies on an ongoing basis
  • Provide direct supervision and organization among all departments of the facility including, equipment, instrumentation, material and meds procurement, sterile processing as well as managing nursing staff and technicians and acting as liaison between management and all staff at the facility
  • Develop and ensure compliance with appropriate departmental policy and procedure manuals for use by the staff
  • Provide direct patient care for pre-operative, post-operative, and sterile processing
  • Responsible for training and ongoing in servicing of all staff at the facility
  • Ensure the surgical programs and clinical services are in compliance with the respective components of regulatory body and accrediting body standards
  • Manage the schedules (OR, cases, surgeons), clinical departments of nursing, medical records, and housekeeping, material (supplies, medications...etc) procurement, and supervise the contracted services of laboratory and radiology
  • Develop, evaluate and promote implementation of a continuous quality improvement program
  • Process the credentialing of practitioners of the facility
  • Ensure appropriate record keeping is maintained and incidents per required guidelines & policies
  • Attend corporate administrative meetings representing the facility, in addition to continuing educational programs
  • Review employee performance as evaluated by their respective managers, ensuring that reviews occur as scheduled or at least annually for each employee
  • Review and approve the disciplinary action and/or discharge and hiring of employees
  • Maintain patient, physician, and employee privacy and confidentiality per policy

 Job Qualifications:

  • Highly motivated and ability to multi-task efficiently under demanding situations
  • Knowledge of all aspects of general and surgical nursing procedures and ability to provide superior patient care
  • Excellent customer service, as well organization and written/oral communication skills.  Must be able to effectively communicate with physicians, staff, and patients
  • 5-7 years prior experience in an ASC surgical setting (RN with proper ASC certification required) with management experience relevant to job description
