Surgical Specialty Center of Baton Rouge deploys Xenex LightStrike germ robot — 3 key notes

The Surgical Specialty Center of Baton Rouge (La.) recently installed the Xenex LightStrike Germ-Zapping Robot.

Here's what you should know:

1. The portable system uses pulsed xenon ultraviolet light to destroy germs and bacteria in operating and patient rooms.

2. The Surgical Specialty Center of Baton Rouge uses the system in its 16 patient rooms and 10 operating rooms.

3. The system can disinfect a typical patient or procedure room in 10 to 15 minutes.
