David Geier, MD, Founder, Sports Medicine University (Charleston, S.C.): We listen to hip hop and rap to liven up the mood. Occasionally, we have nurses or CRNAs who aren't as excited about that music; then we listen to today's pop hits.

Alexandra Tuluca, MD, Thoracic & Cardiac Surgeon, Einstein Healthcare Network (Philadelphia): Pandora radio. Generally depends on the mood, the time of the day, the difficulty of the case and any requests from the team.

We always do well with Adele radio, sometimes top hits, sometimes Led Zeppelin, Arctic Monkeys, Maroon 5 and even a little George Straight.

My personal favorite is my Spotify playlist, which is a medley of pop, alternative, country and rock. However, since it drains my phone battery we usually stick with Pandora.
