9 leaders retiring in 2024

From cardiology to gastroenterology leaders, here are nine prominent clinicians who have retired in 2024: 

1. Auburn (N.Y.) Cardiology Associates is closing its doors after nearly four decades following the retirement of owner and head physician Rama Godishala, MD. 

2. Quincy, Ill.-based invasive cardiologist Eliot Nissenbaum, DO, retired after treating patients in the area for 10 years.

3. Prabodh Mehta, MD, a longtime cardiologist at Baptist Health Medical Group Cardiology in Elizabethtown, Ky., retired in July following 34 years in the field.

4. Gregory Eaton, MD, and Mary Alton, MD, cardiologists at OhioHealth's Mansfield Hospital, retired following more than 20 years with the system. 

5. Gastroenterologist David Riedel, MD, retired following 44 years at Alton (Ill.) Memorial Hospital.

6. Bloomfield, Iowa-based practitioner Tom Juhl, OD, permanently closed his optometry practice after announcing retirement plans. 

7. Scott Stewart, MD, chief of anesthesiology at Brockton, Mass.-based Good Samaritan Medical Center, and Elizabeth Brady, BSN, CRNA, both plan to retire this year.
