Jobless claims for the week ending Aug. 3 fell from the previous week to at 233,000, the lowest total in four weeks, according to an Aug. 8 report from Forbes.
The week prior saw 250,000 claims, the highest level reported by the Labor Department in 51 weeks.
Jobless claims from the week of Aug. 3 also came in below economists' estimates of 240,000. The number of Americans receiving unemployment benefits stood at 1.88 million, essentially flat from the prior week.
