Michigan system to open $30M heart, vascular center

Midland-based MidMichigan Health plans to consolidate its heart and vascular services in a new 170,700-square-foot facility.

Three details:

1. The $30 million Heart and Vascular Center is slated for completion this fall. It is part of a $62.8 million, two-part development project. A building with lab services, an anticoagulation clinic, cardiovascular testing and more opened in the first phase.

2. Upon completion, the Heart and Vascular Center will house all of MidMichigan medical center's heart and vascular physician offices and specialty clinics, as well as cardiac rehabilitation, cardiovascular testing and surgical services.

3. Several offices for electrophysiology, cardiovascular surgery, vascular surgery and cardiovascular research have already relocated to the center's first floor.
