10 Dallas ASCs to know

With a population of 6.9 million, Dallas is the third-largest city in Texas. It is home to a number of research and healthcare centers, such as Baylor University Medical Center, Medical City Dallas Hospital and the UT Southwestern Medical Center. In addition, it is home to a number of high-quality, low-cost ASCs.

Here are 10 ASCs that are located in Dallas.

Baylor Physicians DaySurgery Center. The ASC, an affiliate of United Surgical Partners International and Dallas-based Baylor Scott & White Health, has been in operation for more than 28 years. It includes more than 250 medical professionals who perform over 2,500 procedures annually. The facility features five operating suites and is accredited by The Joint Commission. The multispecialty ASC offers surgical services in general surgery, gynecology, ophthalmology, orthopedics, oral surgery and plastic surgery, among others.

Baylor SurgiCare. The surgery center is accredited by The Joint Commission, and it is affiliated with United Surgical Partners International and Baylor Scott & White Health in Dallas. Its 250 physicians perform more than 2,500 procedures per year. The center provides care in numerous specialties, including ENT, gastroenterology, pain management, gynecology, ophthalmology and orthopedics.

Greenville Surgery Center. The center was developed in 1986 by a group of local physicians. It includes 30 physicians offering care in a wide array of specialties, such as general surgery, gynecology, ophthalmology, ENT, pain management and plastic surgery. It features four operating rooms and is accredited by Texas Department of State Health Services as well as the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care. The ASC is an affiliate of Surgical Care Affiliates.

Medical City Dallas Ambulatory Surgery Center. The ASC is licensed by the state of Texas, certified by Medicare and accredited by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care. The facility includes six operating rooms and it is located on the campus of Medical City Dallas Hospital, which offers convenience for ancillary services such as X-ray services. The center's physicians offer treatments in a number of specialties, including ENT< ophthalmology, pain management, urology, oral surgery, orthopedics and gynecology.

Northstar Healthcare Surgery Center. The ASC is part of Houston-based Nobilis Health and it includes outpatient surgery center locations in Dallas, Houston and Scottsdale, Ariz. The centers offer care in pain management, orthopedics including spine surgery, podiatry, general surgery, gastroenterology and otolaryngology. The facilities are licensed by the state of Texas and accredited by Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care.

North Texas Surgery Center. The surgery center is affiliated with United Surgical Partners International. It is accredited by The Joint Commission, licensed by the state of Texas and Medicare-certified. The center features four operating rooms and one treatment room. The multispecialty ASC includes services in general surgery, gastroenterology, ophthalmology, orthopedics, pain management and urology. Faris Zureikat serves as administrator of the center.

Ophthalmology Surgery Center of Dallas. The physician-driven facility offers surgical treatments for glaucoma, cornea and external disease as well as oculoplastic surgery, retina and vitreous surgery and pediatric ophthalmology. Additionally, a majority of the anesthesiology providers are part of Allied Anesthesia.

Park Center Surgical Center. The center is accredited by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care and it is a member of Nashville, Ten.-based Hospital Corporation of America. The center offers surgical services in a wide array of specialties, including gynecology, hand surgery, maxillofacial surgery, ophthalmology, orthopedics, ENT, urology and gastroenterology.

Precision Surgery Center of Dallas. The ASC has physicians who represent a variety of specialties, including ENT, general surgery, orthopedics, vascular surgery, colon and rectal surgery, gastroenterology, pain management and weight loss surgery. The center is Medicare-certified and is licensed by the Texas Department of State Health Services. It is also accredited by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care. The facility is managed by Ambulatory Surgical Centers of America.

Preston Plaza Surgery Center. The Surgery Partners-affiliated ASC opened in 2003. Physicians perform thousands of cases each year at the center, in specialties such as ophthalmology, otolaryngology, orthopedics and pain management. It is Medicare-certified and accredited by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care.
