America's major cities are home to some of the world's finest healthcare institutions — both inpatient and outpatient.

Here are 82 ASCs in some of the biggest cities in the United States.

Chicago

25 East Same Day Surgery. The surgery center includes four operating rooms and one treatment room. It is a multispecialty ASC offering services in a number of specialties, such as general surgery, gynecology, ophthalmology, orthopedic, pain management and urology. It is accredited by The Joint Commission and certified by Medicare. The center is affiliated with United Surgical Partners International and Evanston, Ill.-based NorthShore University Health System.

900 North Michigan Surgical Center. The ASC is accredited by The Joint Commission. It features four operating rooms and 12 recovery rooms, and it offers surgical services in numerous specialties, such as gynecology, orthopedics, ophthalmology, oral surgery, general surgery, podiatry, urology and pain management. The center's full-time medical director also serves as chief of anesthesia.

Advanced Ambulatory Surgical Center. The multispecialty center was established in 2000 and it encompasses 10,000 square feet. It includes three operating rooms. Physicians at the ASC offer care in general surgery, gastrointestinal surgery, orthopedics, foot and ankle surgery, gynecology, plastic surgery and pain management. The center is a member of the Association for Ambulatory Health Care. Severko Hrywnak, MD, DPM, serves as CEO and director of medical education.  

Gold Coast Surgicenter. The surgery center has been providing surgical services for more than 20 years. The center includes 12 board-certified physician owners, offering care in a wide-array of specialties, such as sports medicine, spine care and neurosurgery. The ASC also includes anesthesiologists. A number of Rush University Medical Center orthopedic surgeons, including Brian Cole, MD, MBA, perform procedures at the center. Dr. Cole is the team physician for the Chicago Bulls and a co-team physician for the Chicago White Sox.

Grand Avenue Surgical Center. The ASC is accredited by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care. It features operating rooms as well as recovery and support areas. The center offers surgical services in a wide array of specialties, such as urology, general surgery, gynecology, podiatry, oral surgery, infertility and vascular surgery.

Magna Surgical Center. Magna Surgical Center was opened in 1987. The surgery center relocated four years ago to a brand new facility. The center is owned and operated by the same physicians that run 900 North Michigan Surgical Center. Magna Surgical Center has three operating rooms and seventeen recovery beds. The center offers gastroenterology, general surgery, gynecology, ophthalmology, orthopedics, pain management, podiatry and urology services. The ASC has seven physician-owners and approximately 60 surgeons who perform cases at the center.

"In order to maintain success as a freestanding surgery center in a large metro area, you have to have the ability to take care of patients in a safe and efficient way. At the same time, you need a deep understanding of the needs of physicians," said Medical Director Kenny Bozorgi, MD. Rush SurgiCenter. Featuring four operating rooms, Rush SurgiCenter offers patient care in numerous specialties, including plastic surgery, ENT, general surgery, gynecology, pain management, podiatry, ophthalmology, orthopedics and urology. The center is accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations and is closely affiliated with Rush University Medical Center in Chicago.

Same Day Surgery River North. The surgery was established in 1986 and features four operating rooms and two procedure rooms. With more than 70 physicians on staff, around 2,500 surgeries are performed at the center every year. The multispecialty ASC is an affiliate of United Surgical Partners International and accredited by The Joint Commission. The center offers services in a number of specialties, including gynecology, ophthalmology, ENT, orthopedics, pediatric surgery, oral surgery, urology and in vitro fertilization.

Dallas

Baylor Physicians DaySurgery Center. The ASC, an affiliate of United Surgical Partners International and Dallas-based Baylor Scott & White Health, has been in operation for more than 28 years. It includes more than 250 medical professionals who perform over 2,500 procedures annually. The facility features five operating suites and is accredited by The Joint Commission. The multispecialty ASC offers surgical services in general surgery, gynecology, ophthalmology, orthopedics, oral surgery and plastic surgery, among others.

Baylor SurgiCare. The surgery center is accredited by The Joint Commission, and it is affiliated with United Surgical Partners International and Baylor Scott & White Health in Dallas. Its 250 physicians perform more than 2,500 procedures per year. The center provides care in numerous specialties, including ENT, gastroenterology, pain management, gynecology, ophthalmology and orthopedics.

Greenville Surgery Center. The center was developed in 1986 by a group of local physicians. It includes 30 physicians offering care in a wide array of specialties, such as general surgery, gynecology, ophthalmology, ENT, pain management and plastic surgery. It features four operating rooms and is accredited by Texas Department of State Health Services as well as the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care. The ASC is an affiliate of Surgical Care Affiliates.

Medical City Dallas Ambulatory Surgery Center. The ASC is licensed by the state of Texas, certified by Medicare and accredited by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care. The facility includes six operating rooms and it is located on the campus of Medical City Dallas Hospital, which offers convenience for ancillary services such as X-ray services. The center's physicians offer treatments in a number of specialties, including ENT< ophthalmology, pain management, urology, oral surgery, orthopedics and gynecology.

Northstar Healthcare Surgery Center. The ASC is part of Houston-based Nobilis Health and it includes outpatient surgery center locations in Dallas, Houston and Scottsdale, Ariz. The centers offer care in pain management, orthopedics including spine surgery, podiatry, general surgery, gastroenterology and otolaryngology. The facilities are licensed by the state of Texas and accredited by Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care.

North Texas Surgery Center. The surgery center is affiliated with United Surgical Partners International. It is accredited by The Joint Commission, licensed by the state of Texas and Medicare-certified. The center features four operating rooms and one treatment room. The multispecialty ASC includes services in general surgery, gastroenterology, ophthalmology, orthopedics, pain management and urology. Faris Zureikat serves as administrator of the center.

Ophthalmology Surgery Center of Dallas. The physician-driven facility offers surgical treatments for glaucoma, cornea and external disease as well as oculoplastic surgery, retina and vitreous surgery and pediatric ophthalmology. Additionally, a majority of the anesthesiology providers are part of Allied Anesthesia.

Park Center Surgical Center. The center is accredited by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care and it is a member of Nashville, Ten.-based Hospital Corporation of America. The center offers surgical services in a wide array of specialties, including gynecology, hand surgery, maxillofacial surgery, ophthalmology, orthopedics, ENT, urology and gastroenterology.

Precision Surgery Center of Dallas. The ASC has physicians who represent a variety of specialties, including ENT, general surgery, orthopedics, vascular surgery, colon and rectal surgery, gastroenterology, pain management and weight loss surgery. The center is Medicare-certified and is licensed by the Texas Department of State Health Services. It is also accredited by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care. The facility is managed by Ambulatory Surgical Centers of America.

Preston Plaza Surgery Center. The Surgery Partners-affiliated ASC opened in 2003. Physicians perform thousands of cases each year at the center, in specialties such as ophthalmology, otolaryngology, orthopedics and pain management. It is Medicare-certified and accredited by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care.

Houston

Cy Fair Surgery Center. The ASC was established in April 1994 by a group of area physicians. The 14,000-square-foot facility includes physicians offering care in a number of specialties, including otolaryngology, orthopedics, general surgery, gastroenterology, plastic surgery, podiatry and pain management. It is accredited by Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care and certified by CMS.

Elite Center for Minimally Invasive Surgery. The surgery center provides surgical services in spine, pediatric ENT, gastroenterology, pain management, podiatry and orthopedics. The center includes eight physicians. Janelle Russell serves as the center's administrator.

Gramercy Outpatient Surgery Center. Established in 1980, the surgery center is certified by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services and accredited by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care. The center offers care in a wide array of specialties, such as ENT, gynecology, ophthalmology, pediatrics and plastic surgery. Hamel J. Patel, MBA, is the surgery center's administrator.

HEA Surgery Center. The center is a part of Houston Eye Associates, and it offers cataract surgery, corneal transplants, glaucoma surgery and oculo-plastic surgery, among other eye treatments. The practice includes 59 board-certified ophthalmologists, 17 optometrists and 2 audiologists. It also spans 28 locations in and around Houston.

Imperial Surgery Center. The freestanding ASC is licensed by the state of Texas and accredited by AAAHC. The center's physicians focus on numerous specialties, such as ophthalmology, gynecology, orthopedics, neurosurgery spine, ENT, plastic and reconstructive surgery as well as regenerative cell therapy. The center also offers minimally invasive surgery utilizing the da Vinci Surgical System.

Kirby Surgical Center. Opened in June 2004, the surgery center is certified by Medicare and licensed by the state of Texas. It is also accredited by AAAHC. The center includes eight physicians providing surgical services in ENT, general surgery, orthopedics and interventional spine care. The facility's chairman is Uday Doctor, MD.

Memorial Hermann Surgery Center Northwest. The ASC is affiliated with United Surgical Partners International and offers surgical services in a number of specialties, such as urology, ENT, general surgery, gynecology, ophthalmology, orthopedic and pain management. The center features five operating rooms and three treatment rooms. It is accredited by The Joint Commission.

North Houston Endoscopy & Surgery. The surgery center features 12 beds, two operating rooms and four treatment rooms. The center's physicians focus on gastroenterology procedures. The centeraccredited by AAAHC. North Houston Endoscopy & Surgery is a United Surgical Partners International-affiliated ASC.

Park Ten Surgical Center. The 18,000-square-foot surgery center offers care in podiatry, orthopedics, ophthalmology, pain management and ENT surgery. The center includes four operating rooms and two procedure rooms. The facility is accredited by AAAHC. Sixteen physicians provide care at the center.  

United Surgery Center Southeast. The ASC is accredited by The Joint Commission and affiliated with United Surgical Partners International. It is also Medicare-certified. It features three operating rooms as well as treatment rooms. The center offers surgical services in ENT, general surgery, pain management, podiatry, orthopedics and spine. Barbara Martin is the administrator of the center.

Los Angeles

Kerlan-Jobe Surgery Center. The ASC, part of Kerlan-Jobe Orthopaedic Clinic, offers same-day procedures and includes an extended recovery area where a patient may stay for 23 hours following surgery. The Kerlan-Jobe Orthopaedic Clinic provides sports medicine services as well as treatments for conditions of the foot, ankle, lower extremity, hand, wrist, spine and shoulder. The clinic is affiliates with a number of professional athletic teams, including the Los Angeles Lakers, Los Angeles Dodgers and the Los Angeles Kings.

Los Angeles Surgery Center. The surgery center is a part of White Memorial Medical Center, is a 353-bed nonprofit, teaching hospital. It offers outpatient, same-day surgical services in a number of specialties, including ENT, gastroenterology, gynecology, ophthalmology, orthopedics, urology and pain management.

Miracle Mile Outpatient Surgery Center. Owned by the Museum Center Surgery Group, the ASC encompasses 10,000 square feet. The center offers a number of treatments in specialties such as orthopedics, spine surgery, general surgery, plastic surgery and interventional pain management. The surgery center includes three operating rooms and equipment such as a C-arm for radiologic imaging and a surgical microscope.

miVIP Surgery Center. The ASC is accredited by The Joint Commission and are recognized as an American College of Surgeons Level Outpatient Accredited Bariatric Center. It offers bariatric surgery using the da Vinci Surgical System. The center includes credentialed healthcare providers and nutrition and education experts.

St. Vincent Eye Surgery Medical Center. Established in 1987, the freestanding outpatient surgery center offers ophthalmic procedures such as cataract surgery, cornea transplant, eyelid surgery, retinal surgery and yag laser. Andrew Cho, MD, serves as medical director of the center. The center includes 17 physicians.

New York

Advanced Endoscopy Center. Advanced Endoscopy Center opened in 2007 in the Bronx. The center is a joint venture with Physicians and Montefiore Medical Center in New York. The center has 12 physician owners. AEC will perform more than 12,000 cases this year. The endoscopy center is an American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy Center of Excellence, Medicare-certified and AAAHC accredited.
 
Ambulatory Surgery Center of Greater New York. The ASC of Greater New York houses two surgical suites dedicated to ophthalmic surgery. The center opened in 1987. More than 20 physicians perform cataract surgery and comprehensive ophthalmology procedures at the center. The center also hosts retina disease specialists, corneal specialists, an oculoplastic surgeon and anesthesiologists. The center is accredited by AAAHC.

Brooklyn Eye Surgery Center. Brooklyn Eye Surgery Center offers cataract surgery, corneal transplant surgery, glaucoma treatment, retinal disease treatment, diabetic eye care, oculoplastics and cosmetic eye lid surgery. The center was one of the first freestanding, AAAHC-accredited ASCs in New York City. More than 30 physicians perform procedures at the center.

Brooklyn Surgery Center. Brooklyn Surgery Center focuses on GI/endoscopy procedures, orthopedic surgery and infertility treatment. The center offers colonoscopy, endoscopy, endoscopy ultrasound, esophageal dilation, hemorrhoid banding, radiofrequency ablation and endoscopic mucosal resection therapy. Orthopedic services include minimally invasive, arthroscopic and endoscopic options. Brooklyn Surgery Center offers infertility treatment for men and women. The surgery center has 11 physician owners. The center is accredited by AAAHC.

Carnegie Hill Endoscopy. Carnegie Hill Endoscopy is a joint venture with Physicians Endoscopy and New York-based Mount Sinai Health System. The endoscopy center opened in Manhattan in 2012. In April 2015, the center outfitted all five of its procedure rooms with the Fuse Endoscopy System. CHE has 22 physician owners. All nurses working at the center are certified by the Society of Gastroenterology Nurses and Associates as advanced GI technical specialists. Additionally, all technicians working at the center are SGNA certified as GI technical specialists and certified as flexible scope reprocessor by the Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution. The SGNA granted CHE the 2015 Flame Award for Unit Excellence. CHE is accredited by the Joint Commission. The center works with Federally Qualified Health Centers to provide free colonoscopies to uninsured and underinsured patients in New York.
         
East Side Endoscopy. East Side Endoscopy is a joint venture between 16 physician owners, Physicians Endoscopy and New York-based Mount Sinai Health System. The Manhattan endoscopy center, opened in 2010, is an ASGE Center of Excellence. East Side Endoscopy regularly contributes data to the NYC Colonoscopy Quality Benchmarking Group, as well as the GIQuIC registry. The endoscopy center also has a charitable care program.

Empire State Ambulatory Surgery Center. Empire State ASC in the Bronx has 12 physician owners. The center is an affiliate of the New York Eye and Ear Infirmary of Mount Sinai. The center is also affiliated with Ambulatory Surgical Centers of America. Empire State ASC offers ophthalmology, orthopedic and podiatry procedures.

Gramercy Surgery Center. Gramercy Surgery Center offers bariatrics, general surgery, gynecology, interventional radiology, orthopedics, ENT, pain management, plastic and reconstructive surgery, podiatry, radiation oncology, urology and vascular surgery. The AAAHC-accredited facility opened in 2006. Anesthesiologist David Albert, MD, serves as medical director of the center. In addition to its Manhattan location, the surgery center also has a location in Queens. The Queens location offers pain management, ENT and urology services.

Manhattan Endoscopy. Manhattan Endoscopy hosts procedures performed by 29 physicians. The center is accredited by the Joint Commission and is an ASGE center of excellence. The center also participates in the NYC Colonoscopy Quality Benchmarking initiative. Manhattan Endoscopy also offers free colorectal cancer screenings to low-income and uninsured patients through its charity care program.

Manhattan Surgery Center. Manhattan Surgery Center, an affiliate if Ambulatory Surgical Centers of America, offers ENT, orthopedics, ophthalmology and pain management procedures. The center has nearly 30 physician-owners. The center's first case was performed in April 2013.

Midtown Surgery Center. Midtown Surgery Center opened in Manhattan in 2010. The surgery center offers general surgery, orthopedics, ENT, gynecology, pain management, podiatry and spine procedures. Eastside Anesthesia provides the center with anesthesiology services. More than 70 physicians perform cases at the center.

New York Eye Surgery Center. New York Eye Surgery Center is located in the Bronx. The center offers cataract surgery, glaucoma treatment, retinal disease treatment and oculoplastic procedures. Eleven physicians perform procedures at the center. Jerome H. Levy, MD, FACS, serves as surgeon director of the center.

New York Surgery Center Queens. New York Surgery Center Queens offers orthopedics, ENT, plastics, pain management, ophthalmology, gynecology, general surgery, podiatry, spine and colorectal surgery. The center is accredited by AAAHC. The center has a multilingual staff and offers translation services.

Queens Endoscopy. Queens Endoscopy opened in May 2013. The endoscopy center has 11 physician-owners and hosts approximately 15,000 cases per year. The center offers colonoscopy, flexible sigmoidoscopy, endoscopic ultrasonography, ERCP, capsule endoscopy, esophageal dilation, percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy and more.

Sheepshead Bay Surgery Center. Sheepshead Bay Surgery Center in Brooklyn has been in operation since 1999. The 5,000-square-foot center houses two operating rooms and a laser procedure room. The center is accredited by the Joint Commission. Sheepshead Bay Surgery Center focuses on ophthalmology procedures including cataract surgery, oculoplastics, laser surgery, corneal transplants and retinal surgery.  

SurgiCare of Manhattan. SurgiCare of Manhattan hosts cases performed by 20 physicians. The freestanding, multispecialty ASC offers orthopedics, spine, pain management, podiatry and ENT procedures.  The center was named an APEX Quality Award Winner for Healthcare Excellence for 2011 to 2012.

Philadelphia

PGC Endoscopy Center for Excellence. The ASC currently includes eight physicians, seven of whom are owners, performing 5,000 procedures annually. Opened in 2007, the center was acquired by Physicians Endoscopy in January 2015. It is Medicare-certified, state-licensed and accredited by AAAHC. The center's board-certified physicians focus on gastroenterology.

Jefferson Surgical Center at Jefferson at the Navy Yard. The multispecialty ASC was developed by area physicians, Thomas Jefferson University Hospital and Nueterra Healthcare. The center features four operating rooms and one procedure room. It offers surgical services in a number of specialties, including anesthesiology, general surgery, orthopedics, pain management and plastic surgery. The center includes 11 physicians.

Red Lion Surgicenter. The surgery center is accredited by the AAAHC and offers dental services for children and adults. More than 1,000 pediatric cases are performed at the center each year. David A. Bresler, DDS, is a co-owner of the center and Joshua A. Bresler, DMD, serves as the medical director.

The Surgery Center of Pennsylvania Hospital. The multispecialty ASC is located on the Tuttleman Center on the Penn Medicine Rittenhouse campus. The surgical team at Pennsylvania Hospital includes physicians in a number of specialties, such as bariatric surgery, cardiac surgery, gastroenterology, plastic surgery and urology.

Wills Eye Surgery Center. The surgery center is a part of the Wills Eye Surgical Network and was opened in 1995. Since then, over 10,000 procedures have been performed at the center. Phoenix

Biltmore Surgery Center. The surgery center offers surgical services in numerous specialties, such as orthopedics, ENT, pain management, general surgery, oral surgery, gynecology and podiatry. The center is affiliated with Sovereign Healthcare and includes a team of highly trained physicians, nurses and technicians.

Canyon Surgery Center. Established in 1999, the surgery center is physician-owned and maintained. It's physicians offer care in a wide array of specialties including orthopedics, ophthalmology, ENT, gynecology, plastic surgery and podiatry. The 19,000-square-ffot facility includes four operating rooms and minor procedure rooms. It includes different types of equipment such as mini and regular C-arms as well as microscopes.  
 
Central Phoenix Surgical Center. The ASC is accredited by AAAHC and certified by Medicare. The facility includes an operating room that features a 9900 Series C-Arm and a Marko Med Anesthesia Machine. It also includes a recovery room with three beds. The center offers a variety of pain management procedures.

Squaw Peak Surgical Facility. The surgery center was founded by Anthony Yeung, MD, in 1998 to complement his practice, Desert Institute for Spine Care. It features two operating rooms and is focused on endoscopic spine surgery and minimally invasive treatment options. Treatments offered at the center include endoscopic transforaminal thoracic and lumbar spine decompression as well as Yeung Endoscopic Spine Surgery.

Desert Ridge Outpatient Surgery Center. The surgery center is an affiliate of United Surgical Partners International, and it is Medicare-certified. It features four operating rooms and two treatment rooms. It offers surgical services in gastroenterology, ophthalmology, orthopedics, ENT, pain management and podiatry.

Gateway Surgery Center. The freestanding facility includes seven operating rooms and a pain procedure room. The center is accredited by AAAHC and its physicians offer care in orthopedics, spine care and pain management. Richard Brooks serves as administrator of the ASC.

McDowell Ambulatory Surgery Center. The Medicare-certified ASC offers a wide array of interventional pain management procedures, including facet joint injections, lateral nerve branch blocks, radiofrequency nerve ablation/neurotomy, joint injections and sympathetic nerve blocks.

Surgicenter. The ASC is the first freestanding surgery center in the country. It opened in 1970 and today, it includes seven operating rooms, three endoscopy rooms, three overnight stay beds and 23 pre-and post-operative beds as well as a pain center. Physicians at the center perform more than 800 procedures every month. It offers surgical services in ENT, gastroenterology, general surgery, orthopedics, gynecology and pain management.

Banner Estrella Surgery Center. The multispecialty surgery center was opened in 2005. Banner Health owns the facility and it has a management contract with Banner Surgery Centers. The nonprofit center includes 30 physicians who provide care in a number of specialties, such as ophthalmology, gynecology, endoscopy procedures, pediatric urology and ENT.

AZ West Endoscopy Center. The endoscopy-focused ASC was developed by a four-physician collaboration — Hector Rodriguez, MD; Patrick Lam, DO; Mansur Khan, MD; and Kandarp Patel, DO. It was opened in 2011 and today, it includes six physician owners. Physicians Endoscopy is the managing partner/owner of the center, which is also certified by Medicare and accredited by The Joint Commission. Matthew A. Willden serves as the administrator and Dr. Hector Rodriguez serves as medical director of the ASC.

San Antonio

Alamo Heights Surgery Center. The surgery center is affiliated with United Surgical Partners International and accredited by The Joint Commission. It features three operating rooms and two treatment rooms. It offers surgical services in numerous specialties, including dental/oral surgery, ENT, gynecology, ophthalmology, orthopedics, pain management and pediatric surgery. Tommy Harvey serves as administrator of the center.

American Surgery Center of South Texas. The single-specialty ASC focuses on ophthalmic procedures, such as cataract surgery, cornea transplants, refractive lens exchange and multiple glaucoma procedures. The center is owned by local physicians and its corporate partner Surgery Partners. The ASC includes seven physicians.

Babcock Surgical Center. The freestanding facility was opened in 2009. The center offers pain management and orthopedic services. It is licensed by the Texas State Department of Health.

Castle Hills Surgery Center. The physician-owned surgery center focuses on providing musculoskeletal care. The center offers treatments for sports injuries, arthritic conditions and sports medicine. It also offers pain management services.

The Center for Special Surgery. The ASC offers surgical services in a number of specialties, including ENT, pain management, orthopedics, podiatry and plastic surgery. The center includes 11 physicians and is a part of Methodist Healthcare, based in San Antonio.

Orthopaedic Surgery Center of San Antonio. The center features six operating rooms, an open-ended MRI as well as CT and X-ray capabilities. It is accredited by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care and focuses on orthopedic treatments such as arthroscopies, joint replacements and platlet-rich plasma therapy. The surgery center is a part of San Antonio Orthopaedic Group.

Pasteur Plaza Surgery Center. The three-OR ASC is licensed by the Texas Department of State Health Services and accredited by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Healthcare. It provides services in urology, ENT, pain management, podiatry, gynecology and plastic surgery. Established in 2002, the center is a member of Surgical Care Affiliates. Michelle Patino is the administrator of the center.

Stone Oak Surgery Center. The multispecialty surgical center is accredited by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Healthcare. It is affiliated with SurgCenter Development. The center was opened in 2011 and it offers care in a wide array of specialties, such as orthopedics, pain management, general surgery and colorectal surgery. It is licensed by the state of Texas.

Theda Oaks Surgery Center. The surgery center is accredited by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Healthcare. It provides surgical treatments in gastroenterology and interventional pain management. The ASC includes eight physicians.

Trinity Surgery Center. The 6,500-square-foot facility is licensed by the state of Texas Department of Health and accredited by Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care. It includes two operating rooms, two treatment rooms and three preoperative beds and four post-anesthesia care unit beds. The center provides surgical services in orthopedics, spine, podiatry and interventional pain management. Eight physicians perform procedures at the center.

San Diego

Coast Surgery Center. The surgery center is accredited by the Association for Accreditation of Ambulatory Health Care. The freestanding facility is physician-owned and operated, and it has been a member of the Ambulatory Surgery Center Association since 1999. The center offers surgical services including spine care, orthopedics and pain management.

Mission Valley Heights Surgery Center. The freestanding ASC is Medicare-certified and accredited by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory for Ambulatory Health Care. The center's 17 physicians provide care for orthopedic conditions, back pain, podiatric issues and pain management. Pat Minero is the center's administrator.

Oasis Surgery Center. Opened in 1997, the surgery center is accredited by The Joint Commission. The center includes approximately 100 credentialed physicians on staff who offer services in orthopedics, podiatry, plastic surgery and pain management.

Physicians Surgery Center at Alvarado. The center features five surgical and procedure rooms, as well as pre-surgery and recovery bays. It is certified by Medicare and accredited by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care. It is owned and operated by physicians, who offer surgical services in a number of specialties, including general surgery, orthopedics, ENT, urology and pain management.

Rancho Bernardo Surgery Center. The surgery center is an affiliate of Surgical Care Affiliates. Stephanie McIntosh, RN, BSN, serves as the center's administrator. The center offers care in a number of specialties, such as gastroenterology, gynecology, ophthalmology, orthopedics, ENT and urology.  

San Diego Endoscopy Center. The ASC, opened in 1992, was the first freestanding endoscopy center built in Southern California. It is accredited by AAAHC and Medicare-certified. The center includes 10 physician partners and its administrator is Rhonda Smith. The center offers colonoscopy, EGD, flexible sigmoidoscopy and feeding tube placement.

San Diego Outpatient Ambulatory Surgical Center. The surgery center opened in 1974 and is certified by Medicare. The center includes four operating rooms and six recovery beds. Its physicians provide care in numerous specialties, including colon and rectal surgery, general surgery, gynecology, ophthalmology, orthopedics, ENT and urology.

SMI Surgery Center. The 12,000-square-foot ASC features operating rooms and two private 23-hour stay rooms for extended recovery patients. It is Medicare-certified and accredited by The Joint Commission. The center was opened in 2009 and it includes seven physicians. It is a multispecialty facility and features services in orthopedics, pain management and neurosurgery.

Surgical Center of San Diego. The surgery center offers surgical services in gynecology, orthopedics, podiatry, pain management, general surgery, urology, gastroenterology and ENT. The center is equipped with the latest technology and includes highly trained healthcare professionals.
