AdventHealth places final beam on new hospital, surgical center

AdventHealth Tampa (Fla.) placed the final beam on its six-story, 300,000-square-foot surgical tower May 15, Patch reports.

What you should know:

1. The health system celebrated the milestone with a topping-off ceremony. The $256 million project will be known as the Taneja Center for Innovative Surgery once completed.

2. The surgical tower will have 24 operating rooms, a hospital entrance and more than 100 postsurgical recovery rooms.

3. AdventHealth expects to open the new center in 2021. The health system believes it will create 587 jobs in its fifth year in existence.
