Paul Thomas, MD, performed the first surgery at Franklin-based Bone and Joint Institute of Tennessee's new surgery center Feb. 6, according to practice CEO Darren Harris.
1. Dr. Thomas is one of 12 providers at the Bone and Joint Institute of Tennessee Surgery Center. He is an orthopedic surgeon and sports medicine specialist with expertise in rotator cuff repair, meniscectomy, joint replacements, patellar dislocations and fracture treatment.
2. The physician-owned ASC is a joint venture by Bone and Joint Institute of Tennessee physicians and Williamson Medical Center in Franklin.
3. It is managed by Westchester, Ill.-based Regent Surgical Health, a company that owns or operates 27 U.S. facilities, 21 hospital joint ventures, 14 total joint replacement centers and three bundled payment entities.
4. With six operating rooms and 25 preoperative and postoperative beds, the ASC is designed to accommodate total joint replacements, spine care, sports medicine and general orthopedics.
