Michigan Anesthesiologist Turned Legislator to Return to Full-Time Medicine

Tom George, an anesthesiologist who served for a decade in the Michigan Legislature before an unsuccessful run as the 2010 Republican gubernatorial candidate, will return to full-time medicine in 2011, according to a report from the Kalamazoo Gazette.

He will return to work at Borgess Medical Center in Kalamazoo, Mich., on Jan. 1, 2011. Over the past 10 years he has worked sporadic shifts at the facility.

The retiring lawmaker has not ruled out a return to politics.
