Somnia Anesthesia has named Robert Farrar, MD, JD, to the role of vice president of medical affairs, according to a Somnia news release.
In this role, Dr. Farrar will support a variety of clinical strategic initiatives for anesthesia practices managed by Somnia in hospitals and surgery centers nationwide. He will also focus on expanding the company's quality management program, use of electronic medical records and clinical information technology.
Dr. Farrar brings 25 years of clinical anesthesia experience to the position. He most recently served as director of cardiothoracic anesthesiology and vice chairman of the department of anesthesiology at Lower Bucks Hospital in Bristol, Pa., and as chairman of the department of anesthesiology at Easton (Pa.) Hospital. He previously held clinical anesthesia positions at several New Jersey hospitals including AtlantiCare Health System in Atlantic City and Jersey City Medical Center.
"I am confident that Bob Farrar's extensive leadership experience in both clinical anesthesia and quality improvement will greatly benefit the growing number of anesthesia programs managed by Somnia and ensure the highest quality patient care," said Robert C.
