Hackensack (N.J) University Medical Center has received Commitment Level status from the American College of Surgeons Geriatric Surgery Verification program, according to a Dec. 15 release from Hackensack Meridian Health.

The Surgery Center-Shrewsbury (Mass.) has received advanced certification in orthopedics for total joints from the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care. The Surgery Center is the first and only ASC in the state to receive this certification, according to a news release shared with Becker's Dec. 13.

Here are three new ASC accreditations Becker's has reported on since Nov. 28:

Fairlawn, N.J.-based Abra Health's Children's Ambulatory Surgery Center has been recognized by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care.

Troy, Mich.-based UnaSource Surgery Center has snagged Advanced Orthopaedic Certification from the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care, the company said in a Nov. 28 email to Becker's. 

Jackson, Tenn.-based Physicians Surgery Center is the first ASC in the state to achieve Advanced Orthopaedic Certification from the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care, the center said in a release emailed to Becker's Nov. 20.

The ​​Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care on Nov. 7 named new officers and leadership to its board of directors.

From bariatric care to knee replacements, here are three new ASC accreditations Becker's has reported on since Aug. 23. 

Powder River Surgery Center in Gillette, Wyo., has become the first clinic in the state to receive Blue Cross Blue Shield of Wyoming's "Blue Circle of Excellence" designation for hip and knee replacements. 

The orthopedic surgery center affiliated with Des Moines, Iowa-based DMOS Orthopaedic Centers, Ankeny Medical Park Surgery Center & UnityPoint Health has earned the AAAHC advanced ortho certification accreditation, news station WHO reported Oct. 21. 

Sayre, Pa.-based Guthrie Robert Packer Hospital’s bariatric ASC was recognized by the Aetna Institutes of Quality, the Morning Times reported Aug. 23.
