3 things to know about the Institute for Medical Quality

The California Medical Association established the nonprofit organization Institute for Medical Quality in 1996. 

Here are three quick facts:

1. IMQ's ambulatory program accredits facilities including ASCs, endoscopy centers, office-based surgery practices, dental practices and pain management centers.

2. CMS granted IMQ deeming authority for ASCs in 2016.

3. William H. Goodson III, MD, serves as the IMQ board of directors' chair. He is a senior clinical research scientist at San Francisco-based California Pacific Medical Center Research Institute.
