The American Occupational Therapy Association accredited the occupational hand therapy fellowship program of Charlotte, N.C.-based OrthoCarolina.
Here are four highlights.
1. OrthoCarolina's occupational hand therapy fellowship program is the first accredited occupational hand therapy program in North Carolina, and the fourth in the U.S.
2. The fellowship is an 18-month clinical and didactic education program for occupational therapists seeking to sit for the Certified Hand Therapist examination and/or become certified in physical rehabilitation.
3. Fellows complete at least 1,500 hours of supervised clinical practice and are full-time, salaried OrthoCarolina employees with benefits.
4. OrthoCarolina specializes in orthopedic treatments in the foot and ankle, hand, hip and knee, shoulder, elbow and spine, as well as sports medicine and pediatrics.
