The Surgery Center of Fairbanks (Alaska) received the 'CNOR Strong' designation from the Competency & Credentialing Institute.

The key details to know:

1. The designation is awarded to facilities that have at least 50 percent of its nursing staff certified by the nationally accredited Certified Nurse Operating Room program. CNOR Strong nurses show compliance with perioperative practice standards.

2. The Surgery Center of Fairbanks is the only surgery center or hospital to receive the distinction so far in 2019.
