Nap Gary is chief operating officer of Regent Surgical Health, a leader of surgery center management and development since 2001. With more than 20 years of leadership experience in the healthcare industry, Mr. Gary is able to effectively oversee all operations and physician relations at more than 20 Regent centers across the country. Prior to joining Regent Surgical Health, Mr. Gary served as senior vice president and assistant corporate counsel for HealthSouth, one of the country's largest providers of rehabilitation care. He was also a partner at the law firm Haskell Slaughter Young and Rediker for 14 years. Mr. Gary completed his undergraduate studies at Duke University and went on to earn a law degree from Washington University School of Law.
A strong advocate for ambulatory surgery centers, Mr. Gary currently serves as vice-chair of the Board of Directors of the ASC Association. He also offers his expert insight on successful ASC management, most recently discussing key ASC turnaround strategies for 2012 with Becker's ASC Review. Mr. Gary also penned a thoughtful column on four of the biggest issues face the ASC industry today: Medicare reimbursement, hospital employment of physicians, outlook on surgeon investors and ASC advocacy.
