California is the most expensive state for physicians to buy a home in, according to an April 2 report from CNBC based on a Bankrate analysis of Redfin sales data.
In 23 U.S. states, a homebuyer needs to earn over $100,000 a year to be able to afford a median-priced home. Since 2020, median home prices have risen 27% and mortgage rates have nearly doubled.
