Orthopaedic Surgery Specialists becomes 1st ASC to use DJO Global patient-selection tool

Burbank, Calif.-based Orthopaedic Surgery Specialists adopted software to help identify outpatient joint replacement surgery candidates.

Orthopaedic Surgery Specialists is the first surgical practice in the U.S. to use DJO Global's DJO OaraScore algorithm for patient selection.

DJO OaraScore is a risk-stratification software system designed for orthopedic surgeons.

"Due to the incredible projected demand for these procedures over the next several years, determining which patients are medically appropriate for outpatient surgery becomes even more critical," said Stephan Yacoubian, MD, a sports medicine specialist at Orthopaedic Surgery Specialists.
