Amerinet Names Canonsburg General Hospital Recipient of Healthcare Achievement Award

Amerinet, a national healthcare group purchasing organization, has named Canonsburg General Hospital in Pittsburgh, Pa., the recipient of the Amerinet Healthcare Achievement Award in the category of financial and operational improvement, according to a news release from the hospital.

 

The award is given yearly in recognition of member excellence for commitment to the reduction of healthcare costs and improvements in the quality of patient care delivery.

 

Canonsburg General Hospital focused on reducing the average length of stay for a patient to improve financial responsibility.

 

"Our chief medical officer, Thomas Corkery, DO became directly involved by speaking to physicians and posting the average length of stay reports by physician name," said Kim Malinky, president and CEO of Canonsburg General Hospital, in the news release. "Having everyone work collaboratively, doctors, nurses and case managers, helped us achieve operational and financial improvement."
