New Hampshire offers the highest physician salaries, and Oklahoma offers the lowest, according to 2018 data from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.

The data covers general physician and surgeon salaries, excluding anesthesiologists, gynecologists, general practitioners, internists, obstetricians and pediatricians.

1. New Hampshire: $275,840
2. North Dakota: $266,510
3. Maine: $257,550
4. Montana: $247,260
5. Minnesota: $245,040
