At least 50% of physicians are burned out in 4 states: breakdown across the U.S.

At least half of physicians in Idaho, Delaware, Kentucky and New Hampshire experience burnout, according to Medscape's Best & Worst Places to Practice 2018 report.

Meanwhile, a third or less of physicians living in Montana, Nebraska, Alaska, Utah and North Dakota reported burnout.

Medscape defined burnout as, "a feeling of physical, emotional or mental exhaustion, as well as frustration and cynicism related to work; and doubts about your competence and the value of your work."

Here is the burnout breakdown by state.
