MDLinx pulled data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics 2017 State Occupational Employment and Wage Estimates to rank where physicians are paid the least.

Here are the 15 states where physicians make the lowest average salaries:

1. Washington, D.C.: $168,382

2. New York: $184,833

3. Michigan: $191,033

4. Arkansas: $195,894

5. Pennsylvania: $196,246

6. Maryland: $198,612

7. Oklahoma: $198,895

8. Missouri: $202,257

9. Nebraska: $204,078

10. Illinois: $206,942

11. Texas: $208,829

12. Kansas: $209,122

13. Oregon: $209,243

14. New Jersey: $209,991

15. Mississippi: $211,844
