Nicholas Skiadas, MD, a cardiologist at Ascension St. Vincent's Riverside Hospital in Jacksonville, Fla., has died at 48, according to a Sept. 13 obituary published on Jacksonville.com.
Dr. Skiadas died on Sept. 13 in Lancaster, Pa. He completed his residency at Philadelphia-based Drexel University College of Medicine's former teaching hospital, Hahnemann University Hospital, before pursuing a fellowship in cardiology at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, N.H.
Dr. Skiadas went on to practice cardiology for eight years at Jennersville (Pa.) Regional Hospital before joining Ascension.
He specialized in treating patients with heart failure, coronary artery disease, cardiomyopathy and many other conditions.
In Dr. Skiadas' honor, St. Vincent’s Riverside Hospital will name a new wing of the cardiology department the Nicholas P. Skiadas, MD Diagnostic Center.
