Healthcare tech company Siemens Healthineers received FDA clearance for its Acuson Origin, a dedicated cardiovascular ultrasound system powered by artificial intelligence features.
The catheter device that completes the ultrasound, the AcuNav Lumos 4D ICE, provides advanced imaging for complex heart procedures, according to an Aug. 13 news release from the company.
The AI-assisted system is designed to help physicians in performing diagnostic, structural heart disease and electrophysiology-related procedures more efficiently. The features were trained on one of the world's largest image databases, which contains more than 2 billion annotated images, the release said.
