Here is every announced, opened or rebranded gastroenterology-focused development or transaction that Becker's ASC Review covered in 2019 so far.

Miami-based Gastro Health entered into an agreement to acquire Longwood, Fla.-based Giles Gastroenterology Center, doing business as Gastroenterology Specialists. Gastro Health also acquired Birmingham, Ala.-based Southeast Gastro, its first out-of-state acquisition.

Regional GI, Main Line Gastroenterology Associates and Digestive Disease Associates will merge in a $130 million deal with private equity firm Amulet Capital.

Amulet Capital Partners formed US Digestive Health, a gastrointestinal-focused practice management organization, through its investment in three Pennsylvania GI practices.

Evanston-based Illinois Gastroenterology Group closed a private equity deal joining the GI Alliance, which created the largest independent gastroenterology services organization in the nation. Takeda and Frazier Healthcare Partners launched Phathom Pharmaceuticals to develop gastrointestinal treatments. Takeda also opened its 165,000-square-foot San Diego research center April 30 to support its drug discovery technologies.

Jaimson, Pa.-based Physicians Endoscopy and Silver Spring, Md.-based Capital Digestive Care entered into a strategic partnership Aug. 1, forming a management platform.

Physicians Endoscopy also entered into a joint venture with Peninsula Regional Health System to open Delmarva Endoscopy Center in Ocean Pines, Md.

Cleveland-based University Hospitals teamed up with ASC development and management company Physicians Endoscopy to transition and relicense a gastroenterology-focused outpatient department into an ASC.

Capital Digestive Care is building a standalone office in Rockville, Md., to house an HyGIeaCare system. Capital Digestive Care is also reopening its Glenn Dale, Md., office and staffing it with five gastroenterologists.
