1. Dr. Fajardo was recognized for his contributions to healthcare.
2. Those contributions include opening the first independent endoscopy center, Las Vegas Gastroenterology, in Clark County and strongly encouraging patients to undergo routine screening for colorectal cancer.
3. Dr. Fajardo earned his medical degree from Manila, Philippines-based Universty of the Philippines College of Medicine. He completed a residency at New York City-based Mount Sinai School of Medicine and a fellowship at Rochester, Minn.-based Mayo Clinic.
4. Dr. Fajardo is also passionate about preventing and treating hepatitis B. He has participated in several national and international campaigns to raise awareness of the disease.
