The Jennie Stuart Ambulatory Surgery Campus in Hopkinsville, Ky., part of Jennie Stuart Medical Center, has celebrated its fifth anniversary by offering treatment for Barrett's esophagus, according to a news release from the medical center.
Three physicians on staff at the ASC are trained in the use of the BARRX Medical HALO Ablation System to treat the condition, a disorder in which the lining of the esophagus is damaged by stomach acid and changed to a lining similar to that of the stomach.
The Jennie Stuart ASC performs more than 4,000 outpatient procedures annually, including cataract surgery, orthopedic surgeries and endoscopies.
