Physicians Endoscopy converts Ohio GI hospital outpatient department into ASC

Cleveland-based University Hospitals teamed up with ASC development and management company Physicians Endoscopy to transition and relicense a gastroenterology-focused outpatient department into an ASC.

Physicians at the newly opened UH North Ridgeville (Ohio) Endoscopy Center began seeing patients May 20 after modifications and redeployments of staff and equipment were completed. The opening of UH North Ridgeville Endoscopy Center marks Physician Endoscopy's fourth ASC partnership with University Health. Plans to explore more market opportunities are in the works.

The UH North Ridgeville Endoscopy Center is jointly owned by Physicians Endoscopy, University Health and four gastroenterologists. The ASC, which has three procedure rooms, received licensure May 2, and was accredited by the Joint Commission and approved by CMS June 2.
