Which GI groups are growing?

Here are 12 gastroenterology companies that expanded their footprint in 2023:

1. Austin (Texas) Gastroenterology

In January, Austin Gastroenterology opened a clinic and endoscopy center in Leander, Texas. 

2. Borland Groover (Jacksonville, Fla.)

In May, Borland Groover broke ground on a new endoscopy center and ASC in St. Johns County, Fla. The company also will build a new endoscopy center in Jacksonville, Fla.

3. Gastroenterology Associates of North Mississippi (Oxford)

In December, Gastroenterology Associates of North Mississippi is expanding its services to Batesville, Miss.-based Panola Medical Center.

4. Gastro Health (Miami)

This year, Gastro Health acquired Olympia, Wash.-based Gastroenterology Associates and Davenport, Fla.-based Gastroenterology Consultants of Polk County. And in December, it partnered with M.H. Razavi, MD, and the Endoscopy & Digestive Center of Woodbridge (Va.).

5. GI Alliance (Dallas)

Since the beginning of the year, GI Alliance has partnered with Rocky Hill-based Connecticut GI, St. Louis-based Specialists in Gastroenterology; Silverdale, Wash.-based Digestive Health Consultants; and New London, Conn.-based Coastal Digestive Care Center

6. Hamilton Physician Group (Dalton, Ga.)

In May, Hamilton Physician Group-Gastroenterology added two gastroenterologists to its team: Larry Shuster, MD, and Sergio Quijano, MD. 

7. Hoag Digestive (Newport Beach, Calif.)

In February, Hoag Digestive Health Institute opened a clinic that provides tailored treatment plans for patients dealing with digestive conditions. 

8. Peak Gastroenterology Associates (Colorado Springs, Colo.)

In November, Peak Gastroenterology opened a new location in Lone Tree, Colo.

9. One GI (Georgetown, Tenn.)

Since the beginning of the year, One GI has partnered with Skyline Gastroenterology and Skyline Endoscopy, two groups in Tennessee; Gainesville, Va.-based Gastroenterology Associates; Chesapeake, Va.-based Gastroenterology Associates of Tidewater; and Nashville, Tenn.-based TransSouth

10. Southern Gastroenterology Associates (Boston, Va.)

In November, Southern Gastroenterology Associates opened its second location in South Boston, Va.

11. United Digestive (Atlanta)

Since the beginning of this year, United Digestive partnered with private equity firm Kohlberg & Co. and acquired Gastroenterology Group of Naples and Gulfshore Endoscopy Center, both in Naples, Fla. The company also partnered with New York City-based payer Oscar Health to extend care to patients in Georgia.

12. US Digestive Health (Exton, Pa.)

US Digestive Health added four new providers to its team in June and another nine in August. The company added Wilmington-based GI Specialists of Delaware and Altoona, Pa.-based Blair Gastroenterology Associates.  The company also added York, Pa.-based surgeon Chris Evans, DO, a

The group unveiled new offices in Collegeville, Pa., and Langhorne, Pa., and relocated an office to join its affiliated endoscopy center, Central Chester County Endoscopy, in Downingtown, Pa.
