14 health system CEO appointments, exits in August

Here are 14 health system leaders who have taken on or stepped down from CEO roles reported by Becker's since Aug. 3:

1. U.S. Anesthesia Partners appointed Len Wright, its current president, to serve as the new CEO.

2. Gastroenterology-focused management service organization One GI appointed Christa Newton CEO.

3. Hayti, Mo.-based Pemiscot Memorial Health Systems named Joanie White-Wagoner CEO. 

4. Hutchinson (Kan.) Regional Healthcare System named Nick Baldetti, DBA, its acting CEO. He will retain his COO responsibilities. 

5. Aimee Daily, PhD, will take over as president and CEO of Children's Miracle Network Hospitals on Nov. 1. 

6. Terry Treadwell plans to vacate his role as CEO of Merit Health River Region in Vicksburg, Miss. Laurie Neely, MSN, APRN, the hospital's chief nursing officer, will take over as interim CEO. 

7. Mark Sullivan will step down as president and CEO of Buffalo, N.Y.-based Catholic Health. Joyce Markiewicz, BSN, RN, Catholic Health's executive vice president and chief business development officer, will succeed Mr. Sullivan.

8. Travis Messina was named CEO and appointed to the board of Franklin, Tenn.-based Regent Surgical Health.

9. Sparrow Health System President and CEO James Dover plans to step down from his role at the Lansing, Mich.-based organization, a position he has held since 2019. 

10. Richard Vath, MD, president and CEO of Baton Rouge, La.-based Franciscan Missionaries of Our Lady Health System, plans to retire in June.

11. Mark Keroack, MD, will retire as CEO of Springfield, Mass.-based Baystate Health in July after a decade in the role.

12. Keith Page will retire as president and CEO of Maryville, Ill.-based Anderson Healthcare in February.
