Rockville Centre, N.Y.-based Catholic Health opened an ambulatory care center in Riverhead, N.Y.

Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist broke ground on a $78 million ASC in Winston-Salem, N.C.

Chula Vista, Calif.-based Sharp Rees-Stealy Otay Ranch Medical Center is adding a two-story medical office building as part of an $86 million expansion project, according to a Jan. 17 report from KPBS.

Kyle, Texas-based Plum Creek Surgery Center has signed a 10,500-square-foot lease in Munster, Ind., and plans to open a new facility in the fall, according to a Jan. 17 report from Northwest Indiana Business.

Just two weeks into 2024, several medical office buildings have already started popping up or are due to pop up in the coming months, including three in unusual places: 

A 5,377-square-foot pain ASC is opening in a newly constructed Magnolia (Texas) Medical Specialists building, according to a Jan. 9 report from Community Impact. 

New York City-based Mount Sinai Health System has opened a new outpatient clinic in the Astoria neighborhood of Queens.

The Portsmouth, N.H., city planning board approved a three-story medical office building at the former Pease Air Force Base, according to a Jan. 16 report from the Portsmouth Herald. 

Carilion Clinic opened its expanded outpatient surgical services at its Carilion Roanoke (Va.) Community Hospital.

NBA team the San Antonio Spurs are opening a 60,000-square-foot medical office building to anchor its $500 million human performance campus, according to a Jan. 10 report from the Real Deal. 

The Hoover (Ala.) Health Care Authority has filed a certificate of need application with the state for a new ASC and medical diagnostic center and is calling on the community to help push for approval from Alabama's health, planning and development agency, according to a Jan. 11 report from the Hoover Sun.

Bethlehem, Pa.-based St. Luke's University Health Network has acquired the site of the former Frederick's Flowers & Gifts in Hilltown Township, Pa., for $8.25 million and plans to convert the property into a medical office building, according to a Jan. 11 report from the Philadelphia Business Journal. 

St. John's Episcopal Hospital has debuted a new ambulatory clinic in Far Rockaway, N.Y., inside its four-story clinical learning center, according to a Jan. 10 report from QNS.

Houston, Mo.-based Texas County Memorial Hospital is in the final stages of completing a new surgery center set to open in February, according to a Jan. 10 report from Ozark Radio News. 

Cincinnati-based Christ Hospital Medical Center-Liberty Township, a part of the Christ Hospital Health Network, has launched a $20 million expansion project that includes adding a new surgery center and medical office building, according to a Jan. 3 report from Medriva.

Lutheran Health Network has broken ground on an 8,000-square-foot medical office building in Huntington, Ind., according to a Jan. 9 report from Building Indiana.
