7 new ASCs in the South in 1 month

Here are seven ASCs that recently opened or were announced in the southern U.S. reported by Becker's since July 5:

1. Mobile, Ala.-based USA Health opened a new ASC, the Mapp Family Campus Surgery Center, in Fairhope, Ala. The surgery center will also be used as an educational and training center.

2. A medical office building in Arlington, Va., was completed on behalf of Arlington-based VHC Health. The outpatient facility will include physical therapy examination and treatment rooms, radiology and imaging suites, examination clinics and six operating rooms. 

3. Louisville, Ky.-based Baptist Health opened a new outpatient medical center in the city. The facility includes an ASC, urgent care center, community pharmacy and physician practices.

4. Marriottsville, Md.-based Bon Secours plans to expand its St. Francis Medical Center campus in Midlothian, Va., by adding an ASC.

5. Valdosta-based South Georgia Medical Center hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the new SGMC Ambulatory Care Center, which provides a separate location for SGMC Orthopedics and the SGMC Pain Management Center.

6. Lawrenceville, Ga.-based Northside Hospital Gwinnett plans to expand outpatient care in the region through the construction of several medical office buildings and an ASC. 

7. Remedy Medical Properties and Medical Facilities Holdings completed a medical office building in San Antonio that is anchored by a Physician Surgical Network Affiliates ASC.
