Coral Gables, Fla.-based Baptist Health Foundation received a $2 million donation from MG Developer, reported South Florida Hospital News and Healthcare Report Sept. 4.
The donation will support the development of Baptist Health Doctors Hospital in Coral Gables, home to the Miami Heat Sports Medicine Center at Baptist Health Orthopedic Institute. The 49,000-square-foot facility houses the institute's orthopedic specialties with an ASC on the top floor.
The gift will also further enable The Village at Coral Gables, a planned senior living community, to emphasize the importance of healthy lifestyles, said the news release. “This is a truly remarkable collaboration between MG Developer and Baptist Health Foundation,” said Alirio Torrealba, CEO of MG Developer, in the report. “We are proud to join them in supporting our Coral Gables community, as access to high-quality healthcare is an essential part of our local residents’ quality of life.”
