David Schanzlin, MD, joined Gordon & Weiss Vision Institute to provide LASIK and cataract surgery in San Diego, according to a news release.
Dr. Schanzlin served as the lead investigator during development and clinical studies on Intacs, corneal implants that provide clear, maintenance-free vision for individuals who are mildly nearsighted without surgery.
Dr. Schanzlin received his medical degree from the University of Chicago and completed two fellowships in cornea and external diseases at the University of Pittsburgh and the University of California at San Francisco. Most recently, he served as a professor of clinical ophthalmology at the University of California, San Diego, and director of keratorefractive surgery at Shiley Eye Center in San Diego.
