Olympus America Seeks to Improve Communication for Medical Professionals

Olympus America, a company focused on precision technology that includes medical and surgical products and imaging systems, is working on ways for medical professionals to better communicate, according to a company news story.

The company has been interested in minimally invasive patient care, and the acquisition of Gyrus AMCI, a supplier of medical visualization and energy systems, has been part of that goal. The acquisition strengthened the company's presence in gastroenterology, pulmonology, urology, gynecology, ENT, general surgery and anesthesiology markets.

The company's goal is to replace print communication with electronic news to provide more timely and pertinent information to medical organizations.
