With elective procedures restricted in more than 30 states, the American Academy of Ophthalmology compiled a master list of which procedures can be considered "urgent" or "emergent."
The list was developed with input from six ophthalmology industry organizations, including the American Glaucoma Society and the American Society of Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus.
It includes more than four dozen surgical procedures listed alphabetically. Cataract surgery, corneal transplantation and strabismus surgery are among the procedures that may be deemed essential. Click here for the full list.
