Steven Beer, MD, successfully used the OsseoScrew in a spine surgery case Nov. 29, 2018.
Here's what you should know:
1. Dr. Beer completed the procedure at Cheyenne (Wyo.) Regional Medical Center.
2. The OsseoScrew secures the spine in clinical conditions when a patient's bone is weaker than normal.
3. Dr. Beer implanted the screw in a 69-year-old patient.
4. "In this case it was a success. The screws held more firmly making us confident that we have achieved perfect stabilization for her," Dr. Beer said.
