The new RMS is designed to protect patients, inform and empower surgeons and facilities, and help payors improve quality while managing cost, according to the release.
"Access MediQuip has a long history of offering a wide array of solutions to those in the implantable medical device field," Access MediQuip CEO Tim Hargarten said in the release. "With the release of RMS we are now able to provide benefits that extend beyond traditional cost management into the realms of quality and patient safety."
RMS leverages its expansive database of facility, device and case-related information to identify potentially affected patients through a series of reactive and proactive processes, according to the release. This capability allows RMS to recognize patients who have already received a defective device, as well as those currently scheduled to receive one.
