Surgical Management Professionals has announced Keri Talcott will serve as the company's new director of corporate communications and human resources.
Ms. Talcott joins SMP with over 10 years of healthcare management experience, most recently holding the position of interim executive director for Physician Hospitals of America (PHA), the national trade association that represents physician-owned hospitals.
"As our company continues to grow, its essential that we communicate effectively with our partners, employees and potential clients," said Mike Lipomi, SMP president and CEO, in a news release. "SMP has responded to both the chaos and opportunity in the current healthcare environment. Ms. Talcott will immediately help us demonstrate these new areas of expertise to existing and future clients."
In her position at PHA, Ms. Talcott said she worked with Mr. Lipomi, the SMP management team and hospital partners. "I am very eager to have the opportunity to be part of the SMP team and to help educate the market on the kinds of efficiencies they bring to surgery centers and physician-owned hospitals," said Ms. Talcott, in the release.
