SourceMedical, a provider of clinical and management ambulatory surgery center and specialty hospital software, therapy and revenue cycle solutions, has announced a partnership with ExitCare to provide SourceMedical's ASC and specialty hospital clients access to patient education documents.
Under the partnership, ExitCare's Patient Education System will be integrated into SourceMedical's software applications to provide nursing and clinical staff instant access to more than 2,000 topics authored specifically for the ASC and specialty hospital care settings, according to a SourceMedical news release. These resources are intended to help facilities improve their quality of care and patient outcomes, and provide support for Meaningful Use requirements as defined by the HITECH Act.
"The patient education documents offered through ExitCare are a great resource for nursing staff and extremely valuable to patients and their families in ensuring post-surgical success," said Ron Pelletier, vice president of market strategy for SourceMedical's surgery division, according to the release. "Patients appreciate a more thorough yet expedited discharge process, while facilities benefit from heightened quality of care and meeting regulatory requirements related to Joint Commission."
